What is NESA Chicago?
NESA Chicago (The National Eagle Scout Association Chicago Chapter) is a fellowship of men who have achieved the Eagle Scout rank and desire to use their talents, efforts and influence toward forming the kind of young men America needs for leadership. This is consistent with the national objective for the Association "...to serve Eagle Scouts and, through them, the entire movement of Scouting."
NESA Chicago seeks to fulfill this mission by serving the adult NESA members through professional networking and events, and the youth members through motivation, mentoring and career search. The focus of these efforts includes:
Networking
Recognizing the value this fraternity of men who have all reached the achievement of Eagle Scout, we share a common value for excellence and live by a high standard of integrity that was forged in our Scouting experience.
Leverage technology to connect and build relationships using voluntary on-line databases (i.e. NESA, Linked In) of professional backgrounds that can be accessed for referrals, advice and services.
Connection at NESA events and activities
Activities
Host NESA events such as recognition dinners, business breakfast meetings and social events
Support existing Council activities to raise awareness for NESA
Provide opportunities for interaction with NESA members and the Scouting community at large
Mentoring
Motivate Star and Life Scouts to persevere to Eagle, by demonstrating the unique benefits of joining this elite (but not elitist) group of Scouts
Through high school and college years, provide opportunities for Eagle Scouts to learn about career options they are considering first hand through other Eagles in those professions
Helping Eagles land their first job and then engage with the NESA chapter to continue the cycle of service

Discounted Tickets to To the Arctic 3D at the Navy Pier IMAX
We have discounted tickets to To the Arctic 3D at the Navy Pier IMAX that can be used anytime the show is playing! Tickets are $6 each ($11 value) and can be purchased at www.chicagobsa.org/imax. Non-NESA family and friends may also purchase the tickets. The show runs through Labor Day.
Career Fair
NESA Chicago’s Mentoring Committee will be putting together a Career Fair where Scouts from the Chicago Area Council can come to learn about various career paths. The event is scheduled for some time next fall. We are currently looking for NESA members to host a table where they will teach Scouts about their career field, and if possible, have a hands-on activity for the Scouts to participate in which demonstrates that field. Interested parties should contact our VP of Mentoring, Larry Chesler, at cheslerlawrence@sbcglobal.net.

Do I have to join national NESA to join NESA Chicago?
No, you don't have to join national, and there's no membership fee to join NESA Chicago. All Eagle Scouts are welcome to join.
